LCTC Update
The Board reviewed final expenditure report amounts submitted to the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education for the LCTC addition. These expenditures have been approved by DESE and the District should receive the last reimbursement with the next transmittal.
Capital Projects Update
The Board was previously presented a list of projects for the 2011-2012 budget. The Board approved the recommended 2011-2012 Capital Projects list as presented.
NEW BUSINESS (Continued)
Discussion of Current Board Policy & Interpretation of Public Participation Policy
Earlier this school year the Board discussed possibly changing policy regarding candidate filing procedures. The Board discussed an alternative to the “first through the door” ballot listing. MSBA has an alternative policy which makes provisions for the lottery system. Both policies were reviewed. The Board will consider revising this policy in the near future.
The Board also reviewed Policy BDDH, Public Participation at Board Meetings. The Board consensus was that this current policy serves the intended purpose.
School Improvement Report
Dr. Henry updated the Board on the District’s current school improvement status. Camdenton R-III is in the level of school improvement called Restructuring. The District is in the Restructuring Planning phase. Next year the District will be in the phase, Restructuring Implementation. Dr. Henry discussed possible consequences associated with this level of school improvement and addressed current plans to attend to the demands of the restructuring process.
Approve Expenditures for CC & Dorothy Blair Excellence in Education Trust
The Board approved the 2011-2012 CC and Dorothy Blair Excellence in Education Trust Fund expenditures as recommended by the committee.
Appoint Two Board of Education Members to Serve on the Foundation Board
The September Education Foundation meeting will be their tenth anniversary. Each anniversary, two Camdenton R-III School Board members are appointed to serve on the Foundation Board. School Board Directors chosen for 2011-2012 were Selynn Barbour and Nancy Masterson.
