    Due to cancellation of school today, recognition by Camdenton R-III staff and students

     of Board members in honor of School Board Appreciation Week was postponed

     until just prior to the March Board meeting.

     

     

    CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEES OF THE MONTH

    Kim Simpson, President of the Classified Employee Association, was present to recognize the “Classified Employee of the Month.”  Ed Singer, custodian at Dogwood Elementary since 2005, was recognized as the February Classified Employee of the Month.

                    RECOGNITION OF CAREER AND TECHNICAL EDUCATION MONTH

    In recognition of Career & Technical Education month FFA members shared information regarding their chapter and their various activities and programs.

    BOND ISSUANCE

    Dick Bartow, from George K. Baum, was in-District to brief the Board regarding the next issuances of bonds.  The Board moved to proceed with the issuance of bonds for the construction of Osage Beach Elementary School, additions and renovations at Hurricane Deck Elementary School, and security construction on the main campus.

    2014-2015 CALENDAR HEARING

     

    CAMDENTON R-III SCHOOL DISTRICT NOTICE OF HEARING:

     

    A hearing will be held on the 2014-2015 school year calendar at Board of Education meeting on February 10, 2014, at 5:30 p.m., Administration Building Board Room, 172 Dare Blvd, Camdenton, MO 65020.  Citizens may be heard on the proposed school starting date of more than ten days prior to the first Monday in September.

     

    In accordance with State law, any School District starting school prior to ten days before first Monday in September (Labor Day) must hold a public hearing.  Publication of the hearing was printed in the local newspaper and sent to local radio stations.  Four calendar options had been presented to administration and staff and were reviewed by the Board.  The Board adopted Calendar option 4 for the 2014-2015 school year as recommended.

    SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER ANNUAL REPORT

    Officer Chris Williams reported on the progress the Department is making.  The goal of the school resource officer program has been to establish a proactive position on school discipline and to establish a relationship between students and law enforcement.

    2014-2015 PERSONNEL NEEDS REPORT

    Dr. Jim Rich presented the 2014-2015 Personnel Needs Report.  This report provided student/teacher ratios in each building and provided recommendations concerning certified and classified staff as requested by building and program administrators.

    Superintendent Hadfield presented information regarding student attendance zones in light of construction at Osage Beach Elementary School and Hurricane Deck Elementary.
