Hi! My name is Thea Summers and this is my second year at Dogwood Elementary teaching 1st grade and my 3rd year teaching overall. I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from University of Central Missouri in 2004 and played softball for the Jennies from 1999-2003. I decided to go back to school in 2010 to get my Elementary Education Teaching Certification and am currently working on my Masters through Columbia College. 

I love working with children and seeing that light in their eyes when they’re excited about what they are learning.  I think that they inspire me just as much as I inspire them and my hope is that they leave my class at the end of the year knowing that they are unique, valued, and can make a difference in their own lives as well as others.

In my spare time I enjoy reading, playing with my puppy, spending time with family & friends, working out or just about anything outdoors.  I grew up in the small town of Sweet Springs, MO playing sports year round, riding horses, and going camping.

I am very excited to be a part of the Laker Nation & my Dogwood Elementary team.
