Welcome, fellow Lakers!  I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you.  This year begins my 18th year in education and my 15th year with Camdenton R-III Schools.  My educational background includes a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Kansas State University with an area of concentration in special education.  In December of 2009, I received a master’s degree from William Woods University in elementary school administration and in May of 2011 I received my specialist in school administration.  Graduate classes in the areas of reading instruction and gifted education as well as certification as a cognitive coach have given me additional strategies in helping students and teachers reach their goals.  I have taught first grade, third grade, fourth grade, and special education.  In addition to teaching in these areas, I served as Hawthorn Elementary's instructional methods coach for two years prior to moving into my current role as Hawthorn Elementary's Asst. Principal.  Each and every one of those experiences have brought cherished memories and learning experiences to me.

When I am not in school, I enjoy spending time with my family.  My husband, Boone, and I have been married for 18 years and have 2 boys, Jake and Will.  Jake attends Camdenton High School and Will attends Camdenton Middle School.  Together, we enjoy taking vacations to national parks, hiking, camping, fishing, gardening and canning.  Busy, busy, but such is the life of a Laker!
