    Presentation of 2012-2013 School Calendar

Progressions of possible school calendars for the 2012-2013 school year were presented to the Board.  These and other options will be considered during the upcoming month with a final recommendation presented to the Board at the February meeting.

    Procurement Card Information

As directed, Superintendent Hadfield obtained information regarding MSBA’s Procurement Card Program.  This information including districts already involved, Board policy, rebate schedule, reports available, sample resolution, etc. was reviewed and discussed.  The sample plan has many options.  Supt. Hadfield sought direction from the Board on how to proceed if the Board wants to continue the process of implementing a procurement card.  Chris McElyea and Selynn Barbour will be Board representatives to work with the Superintendent and accounts payable in order to create a workable plan for Camdenton R-III.

    Board Policy Revision

Senate Bill 1 possessed some of the same requirements of Senate Bill 54.  Senate Bill 54 contained several provisions, most notably limitations on employee-staff communication.  Some requirements regarding this communication do remain.  Senate Bill 1 also had different provisions from Senate Bill 54.  Missouri districts shall by March 1, 2012, have a written policy on employee-staff communication.  The Board reviewed a draft of Policy GBH-Staff/Student Relations, including a number of suggested revisions by Camdenton R-III staff and approved by MSBA.  This policy will be revisited by the Board in February, incorporating Board suggestions.

    CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH

Deb Allen, President of the Classified Employee Association, was present to recognize Sue Blankenship, Nurse Coordinator for the Camdenton R-III School District, as the January “Classified Employee of the Month.”  Sue has been employed by the District since April 2009.
