Highlights of Board of Education Community Forum

The Camdenton R-III School District Board of Education met on Tuesday, May 15, 2012, for a community forum to discuss recent litigation regarding the District’s internet filtering system.  President Nancy Masterson welcomed all to the forum.  Attorneys Dr. Tom Mickes and Betsey Helfrich were present and assisted in answering legal questions.  Approximately 40 people were in attendance. 

Superintendent Hadfield reviewed a timeline of events and highlighted key aspects of the lawsuit.  The District’s goal was to protect the needs of all Camdenton R-III students.  In the end, the District stood by its original argument by keeping the sexuality filter in place.

Ten District patrons spoke and/or asked questions during the public comment section regarding their views on the lawsuit.
